Two cousins

January 28, 2010 by karen

I suppose it’s inevitable that a genealogy blog must report sad news from time to time.

First I am sad to report the death of Warren Rudeen, the third child of Walt and Anna Rudeen’s four children. His three siblings preceded him in death. Warren was very interested in the Rudeen family history and even visited the Rudeen’s ancestral village of Marbäck in Sweden (more about that sometime…) Through the years, Warren gave me a lot of cool information about the Rudeen family. One time he gave me a paper sack full of old photographs that had belonged to his parents. Sadly, the photos had no markings on them and it’s impossible to know who the people are. But they’re fun to look at anyway (here’s one of them with some Swedish-looking kids who are cute as buttons; check out the dolly in the little girl’s lap). Warren was a first cousin to Don, Florence and Stan.
The other recent death was that of Darrell Timmons. Darrell was a first cousin to Thelma Pearson and Vivian Rudeen. Darrell’s father was Glen Timmons, and Glen was Lola’s youngest brother (Lola was Thelma’s and Vivian’s mother).
